Day 1 - Arusha


As you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a representative from TAPAC Safaris will be there to meet you, holding a sign with your name on it.

From here, you will transfer to Ilboru Safari Lodge, which is located on a beautiful coffee plantation on the outskirts of Arusha town. 

As you arrive at the lodge, Fredrik, owner and manager of TAPAC Safaris will have a pre - safari brief with you, going through the safari with you. Here he will cover general information for the safari, safety on safari, general rules and what you might get to experience.

Day 2 – Tarangire National Park


After breakfast at the lodge you will transfer to Tarangire National Park for a full day on safari within the park. Lunch will be at a picnic spot within the park, sitting comfortably in chairs under a canvas roof of our vehicles.

Tarangire National Park is famous for its stunning landscape, with the massive baobab trees dominating the area. The park holds numerous species of mammals and birds, with the large elephant herds as one of the biggest attraction.

As you drive to your special campsite in the afternoon our crew will have already set up camp for you, and hot water will be ready for you if you wish to take a hot shower.

After a shower, your guide will sit down and explain about many of the things that happened during the day, and he will show you on the map the different areas you visited today.

Spend the rest of the evening around the fire with a nice glass of wine, before you will indulge yourself in a 4-course meal prepared by our master cook.

Later you will go to bed in a comfortable tent with a nice and soft mattress and pillow, and just listen to all the amazing sounds of the bush.

*Special campsites are designated safari campsites in the bush, without any other facilities than what we bring. These are private and we will be the only ones at the camp, making this a very intimate and exciting camp to spend the night. We do of course provide you will all the camping equipment needed, including a portable toilet and shower, and all other camping gear needed for a unique camping experience.




Day3 – Tarangire National Park

Spend the full day on safari exploring the southern areas of Tarangire National Park, and visit the famous Silale swamps where you can see families of elephants socializing, playing, swimming, drinking and eating. This is a magical place to experience elephants in their habitat, and you will truly discover how fantastic elephants are.


Lunch will be at a picnic spot somewhere in the park. In the afternoon, you will drive to your campsite, where you will be able to relax and take in all the amazing moments of the day.

Day 4 – Oldupai Gorge and Leatoli within Ngorongoro Conservation area

After breakfast at the campsite, you will go for a short safari in Tarangire National Park as you slowly make your way out of the park. Once you are out of the park you will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation area, and from here, you will first visit the famous Leatoli archeological site, where early footprints of Man where discovered.

Lunch will be around this area, before you in the afternoon drive towards Oldupai Gorge and Oldupai Gorge museum. Here you will have a guided tour within the Gorge itself, where Dr. Leaky and his crew over years have discovered remains of early man in the ground.

After this, you will drive to Nasera rock, an amazing area just north of the Oldupai Gorge.

Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing with a glass of wine, or try to ascend the beautiful Nasera rock.

Enjoy a 4-course meal at the camp with the amazing landscape and views in the background.

Day 5 – Ngorongoro Conservation area

Today you can either spend the day on a walking safari, with a masai guide, around the area of Nasera rock or you can go for a game drive around Lake Ndutu a bit south west of Nasera Rock.


Walking safaris in this area will allow you to experience the bush in a different way than in a vehicle, with animals more vary about people on foot than in the vehicles. You will also have the chance of driving to a nearby cliff, which is the nesting ground of Ruppels vultures. Lunch will be as a hot lunch back at the camp.


If you decide to do a safari, you will drive to a place called Lake Ndutu, and you will have a picnic lunch somewhere in the bush. This area is famous for its cats. However, not the premium season for this area, you should be able to spot some of the resident big cats as lions, leopards and cheetahs here.


Return to the campsite in the afternoon for a nice last dinner in the bush. A night to remember!

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After an early breakfast at the camp, you will drive to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, situated about 2 hours away. From here, you will descend the steep 600-meter wall of the famous caldera, for a half-day safari on the crater floor.


The Ngorongoro Crater is a 3 million year old collapsed volcano that over the years have developed a unique eco system, only found here in the world. It boosts an amazing wildlife, and the highly endangered black rhino can be found here.

Ngorongoro Crater is also famous for holding the highest density of predatory mammals over such a small area, with lions and hyenas as the predominantly strong ones.

Lunch will be at a picnic spot on the crater floor. In the afternoon, you will ascend the crater wall and leave the conservation area, heading back to Arusha and your desired destination here.

Day 7 – Maji Moto – Arusha

After breakfast today, you will drive to an amazing place called Maji Moto (hot water). This is underground River that comes up in the bush, like an oasis in the middle of nowhere. We spend the day around here, playing in the water, jumping in the rope swing and just enjoying ourselves. You will also have a full barbeque lunch here before you in the afternoon will transfer to Kilimanjaro Int. Airport for your flight back home.
