10 day luxury safari and Zanzibar

 

Day 1 - Arusha

As you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a representative from TAPAC Safaris will be there to meet you, holding a sign with your name on it.

From here, you will transfer to Arusha Coffee Lodge, which is located on a beautiful coffee plantation on the outskirts of Arusha town.

 

As you arrive at the lodge, Fredrik, owner and manager of TAPAC Safaris will have a pre - safari brief with you, going through the safari with you. Here he will cover general information for the safari, safety on safari, general rules and what you might get to experience.

Day 2 – Arusha – Tarangire National Park

 

After breakfast at the lodge, your safari guide will pick you up and from here you will drive to Tarangire National Park for a full day safari within the park.

Tarangire National Park is famous for its massive baobab trees and for holding the largest herds of elephants in East Africa. This is a great place to start your safari.

Lunch will be in the shade of your canvas roof of the vehicle, enjoying a complimentary bottle of red and/or white wine while eating a great home-made lunch from TAPAC Safaris.

In the afternoon, you will leave the park and drive to Lemala Explorer Camp for a nice sunset drink while watching a stunningly beautiful sunset over the rift valley in the distance.

Day 3 – Tarangire National Park– Ngorongoro Crater

 

Enjoy your breakfast in a beautiful and tranquil setting, before transferring to the Ngorongoro Conservation area and the world famous Ngorongoro Crater for a full day safari withing the 

 

Ngorongoro Crater is a truly amazing place and a must for anyone who visits Tanzania.

A 3-year-old collapsed volcano has created a unique eco system like nowhere else.

Within the crater, a thriving wildlife population exists, with the highest density of predatory mammals in Africa. 

Lions are the king of the crater floor, but the plentiful Hyenas are not easy to scare. 

This is also on of very few parks in the Northern Safari Circuit where you have the chance of seeing Africa’s Big 5, the lion, the elephant, the leopard, the buffalo and the endangered black rhino.

  

In the late afternoon you will ascend the crater wall and drive to Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp for a sunset drink around the bonfire, before dinner and overnight here.

Day 4 – Ngorongoro – Serengeti National Park

 

After a great breakfast on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, you will transfer towards Serengeti National Park, stopping at Oldupai Gorge (important archeological site in Tanzania, cradle of mankind) for a tour and a visit to their museum.

Lunch will be under your private shaded roof, enjoying a glass of wine with your lunch.

As you arrive Serengeti National Park in the afternoon, you will go for an afternoon safari slowly making your way to Lemala Ewanjan Tented Camp for a nice sunset drink before dinner and overnight.

Day 5 – Serengeti National Park

Spend the full day on safari within Serengeti National Park. Either as a full day game drive with a picnic lunch, or in several shorter game drives and a hot lunch back at the camp.


Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly one of the most famous national parks in the world and combined with Ngorongoro Conservation area to the east and the Masai Mara Game Reserve in the North it holds one of the last wildlife migrations on earth. More than 2 million animals migrate between these parks every year in search of water and green pastures. The park also holds about 3000 lions, and there is a good chance of spotting the king of the jungle as well as other big predators such as hyenas, leopards and cheetahs. This is the place to visit for a truly memorable safari experience.

  

In the late afternoon you will drive to a beautiful area where you can enjoy a truly unbelievable sunset over the Serengeti plains.

Day 6 – Serengeti National Park – Mto Wa Mbu

After a delicious breakfast at the camp, you will go on a morning safari as you slowly make your way out of Serengeti and Ngorongoro.

In the afternoon, you will arrive in the local village of Mto Wa Mbu, and from here, you will drive to Lemala Manyara Tented Camp. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the camp, or go for a short walking safari with the Masai warriors working at the camp.

Day 7 – Mto Wa Mbu – Zanzibar

Enjoy your last breakfast in the bush, before you will drive to Manyara airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. As you arrive at Zanzibar International Airport, you will be welcomed from the staff at Matemwe, holding a sign with your name on it.

 

From here, you will transfer to their resort on the northern side of the island. Spend the remaining day sunbathing, lounging around the pool or do exactly what you feel like. You are on Zanzibar, and you have all the time in the world!

Day 8 – Zanzibar

Spend the full day on Zanzibar. Relax on the beach, along the pool, or try one of Zanzibar’s many activities such as snorkeling, diving, guided reef and village tours, kayaking, dhow boat trips, bicycle tours, spice island tours, tours to Stonetown, walking safari in Jozani forest and many more.

Day 9 – Zanzibar

Spend the full day on Zanzibar. Relax on the beach, along the pool, or try one of Zanzibar’s many activities such as snorkeling, guided reef and village tours, kayaking, dhow boat trips, bicycle tours, spice island tours, tours to Stonetown, walking safari in Jozani forest and many more.

Day 10 – Zanzibar – Arusha - Home


After breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to Zanzibar airport for your flight to Arusha. Once you arrive in Arusha, our staff will meet you, transferring you to Arusha Coffee Lodge for lunch and relaxation while you wait for your evening flight home.

In the late afternoon, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.
